About Us
UNIT COMPANY (UNIT) is an Alaskan owned company that was formed in 1977 to perform design-build construction work for the Carr Gottstein Corporation. Since our inception, we have grown into one of the largest Alaskan general contractors that operate both on and off the road systems, performing work for a mixture of public and private clients. Our firm has constructed a wide variety of projects ranging from multi unit residential neighborhoods, multi unit apartment complexes, commercial and retail facilities, industrial and institutional facilities as well as health care and educational buildings. Our major and repeat clients include Anchorage School District, Providence Health Care, Alaska Airlines, Safeway Corporation, Alaska District Corps of Engineers and many other major Alaska building owners.
UNIT’s main location is in downtown Anchorage, at 620 E. Whitney Road. We have over 10,000 S.F. of office space and almost two acres of yard space to accommodate our project needs.
We own and maintain a significant fleet of equipment and jobsite general requirement support facilities to manage several large building projects. This fleet of equipment includes but is not limited to; Pick-ups, Flat-beds, Forklifts, Backhoes, Generators, Light Plants and other standard equipment building Contractors use for commercial building projects.
