Alaska Regional Hospital/VA Pedestrian Bridge Repairs
UNIT was selected to repair the existing steel pedestrian bridge with concrete deck due to corrosion. The bridge is approximately 80 feet long by 12 feet wide. Work required demolition of deck, sand blasting of steel, structural repairs, replacement of deck with heat loops, and coating for corrosion protection. All lights, conduit, and security equipment associated with the bridge were also removed and reinstalled.
