Carrs Wasilla Remodel

UNIT was awarded the 100,000 SF renovation of the Wasilla Carrs/Safeway grocery store in December of 2010 and   involved the addition of a new 4” waste line that ran across and through multiple departments to accommodate the new plumbing loads.  UNIT had to implement safety precautions throughout the store protect the public and workers as this trench reached a depth of over 6’-6”.  Multiple departments underwent intensive renovations while still remaining fully operational for the public.  Some of the modifications involved demolishing flooring, erection of new walls, installing new epoxy, tile, sheet vinyl and VCT flooring, structural upgrades for new roof top units, new exterior façade, installation of new underground mechanical and electrical, pouring an new raised floor, installation of new foundation for new exterior freezer box, and general architectural upgrades compliant with the "lifestyles" finishes for the Safeway décor.
