Fort Greely Defense Satellite Communication System (DSCS)
UNIT was contracted to construct the 10,000 SF Fort Greely DSCS facility as a portion of the overall work on the 2002/2003 Missile Defense Test Bed Work. This project has classified requirements and information that cannot be repeated. Our role as general contractor included the complete construction of the precast concrete industrial building that houses the classified radar tracking equipment that the Missile Defense utilizes. DSCS contains complex mechanical and electrical systems designated to facilitate the radar systems installed for the facility. The Electronic Security System (ESS) levels of the building are extreme and the facility is designed to withstand a High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) blast.
