Office Depot, Midtown & Downtown Anchorage

In Spring of 1999 UNIT was selected to construct two 34,000 SF retail facilities under a fast-track design build contract.  We constructed these facilities concurrently for two owners and both facilities were completed 120 days after the notice to proceed was issued.  One of the sites experienced unanticipated contaiminated soil which had to be remediated without any extension to the contract completion date which UNIT achieved.  

Building construction was concrete slab-on-grade, masonry exterior walls, structural steel, metal deck and EPDM roof.  Complete site improvements of the four (4) acre lot were included in the project scope.

UNIT self performed the concrete work, the steel erection and all interior carpentry work.  We also provided supervision and coordination of all the subcontractor trades.
